Here are at Developing Moments, we do HIGH QUALITY reel conversions of Super 8 and Standard 8mm film. Unlike most of the other reel conversion companies we do NOT video your reels through a projector but individually scan ALL the images on the reel and convert the high resolution images to a movie. This gives better scan results and can be guaranteed not to burn your film as there is no heat source.

This process is a long and time consuming process but gives you the safest and best result. For a 3" (3.5minute) reel, it takes on average 1 hour to complete. As a standard, reels get converted to DVD and that is included in the price. We can convert reels to USB's however this is at an additional price as this requires a conversion to a different file type.

For reel conversions we prefer to do a slower, better quality job to give you the peace of mind and assurance that your precious memories will be safe in our care. Due to this we charge per size and foot of each reel and NOT on a time basis. On average reels take anywhere from 1-2 weeks to complete due to the large number of conversions we do. We offer bulk prices on reels and if you are in no rush we can do them a little cheaper! We can also do reels with audio strips however these take more time and are more expensive to convert. They can be easily converted without the attached audio for the same price as a non-audio reel of the corresponding size. Please note that if you chose to have the audio converted they will take longer and work on a quote basis.
